Curtains frame the window and make the whole room cozy. If you can't imagine the interior without them and it's time to buy new ones, we have a few practical tips for you. How to choose curtains? What types of pleats exist and how to focus the length on the curtain? You will learn all this in this article! We send the vast majority of curtains immediately , so it only takes a moment from the idea to the newly dressed window.

Types of curtains. Jacquard, voile, stained glass and more

Get acquainted with the curtain menu and you will immediately have the clear one you are looking for.

• Jacquard curtains. A classic we all know. Jacquard is a "mesh" textile weave that creates various patterns - ornaments, flowers, in short, whatever you can think of. These are curtains that appear most often in Czech households. Today, you can choose from a rich selection of designs from traditional as grandmother's to modern simple decors.
• Voile curtains. The voile is an airy almost translucent fabric in a dense weave (it is not meshed like jacquard). It is usually available in premium materials such as linen, cotton or silk. However, voile curtains made of polyester are also available at a favorable price. In the case of curtains, the use of polyester is appropriate - more practical material is difficult to find (easy to maintain, does not need to be ironed, dries quickly). For rich pleating, it is suitable, for example, for French windows.
• Embroidered and lace curtains. Do you like elegant crocheted and embroidered patterns? Then this category is made for you. Decorated curtains will suit your windows. We also offer modern curtains made of madeira fabric.
• Stained glass curtains. Are you looking for a short curtain that does not reach to the ground? Then you need stained glass curtains - they are usually 30-120 cm and let enough light into the room.
• Luxury curtains. If you are looking for something exclusive, explore the curtains from the German manufacturer Gerster. They excel in premium workmanship and unobtrusive appearance. How to measure a window for curtains?

Accurate measurement is an important part of a successful purchase . If you already have a curtain and the length suits you, there is nothing easier than remeasuring your existing curtain. However, be careful with the width - the curtain is pleated. We recommend pleating the curtains at least twice the width of the window, easily up to three times. Do you need a curtain for a two-meter window? Order at least 4 m of curtains in stock.

• Bending . Simple end of the curtain by sewing so that it does not steam. Choose this variant if you intend to hang curtains on a clamp - "frogs" on a cornice. But as you can see in the list, there are many possibilities of hanging today, don't be afraid to experiment!
• Creasing tape . Do you want a curtain with perfectly even folds? Bet on a creasing tape or ribbon - you can sew it on the back edge of the curtain and pull it off with strings. Thanks to the pleating ribbon, you don't have to create warehouses by hand, but they will make them for you, moreover, they are pretty symmetrical. For the tape, you select the fold ratio of the curtain, eg 1: 2 means that the curtain folds to half size (ie, for example, a curtain for a 1.5 m window is created from 3 m of footage).
• Hidden loops . A type of pleating tape that is sewn onto the back upper side of the curtain and creates the appearance of loops, while the curtain itself is threaded directly onto the cornice rod.
• Tunnel . A classic for direct stringing on a pole, an effective canary is created, which is especially suitable for interiors in a rustic style.
• Loops . Narrow strips of fabric sewn on the upper edge of the curtain, using the resulting loops, the curtain is attached to the cornice.
• Rings . Metal or plastic rings are sewn directly into the curtain.

TIP: How to make a long curtain blend in nicely? Sew a load pencil to the side edges . The heavier the curtain material, the heavier the pencil.
