What are black out decorative fabrics?

You can use shading, so-called black out decorative fabrics for the production of curtains, covers or shades. After special treatment, they are non-flammable and are also used in hotels, restaurants, cinemas, theaters, schools, hospitals and other public spaces.

Black out fabrics ensure a perfect blackout in rooms, usually bedrooms, thus replacing blinds. They are multi-layered and, in addition to light penetration, they also reduce noise and heat loss. Thanks to the fact that these fabrics significantly reduce disturbing influences , you will sleep much better .

Black out fabrics, like other fabrics and carpets, can also be impregnated with a special fabric and ensure their non-flammability. Did you know that firefighters go out on average to 7 fires a day, which destroy property for almost 800,000 crowns? In 5 years, the damage was estimated at 1.4 billion crowns. Research has shown that textiles make a significant contribution to the spread of fires.

If you have curtains or drapes made of flame retardant material in your premises, they will not ignite in contact with fire. The fibers only melt slowly and the fire goes out in a moment. So there are no flames and no dangerous fumes are released - carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide, hydrogen cyanide, phosgene, hydrochloric acid or chlorine.

How much does black out fabric cost?

The prices of black out decorative fabrics are not dizzying at all. They start at 220 CZK per standard meter (width 150 cm). These special fabrics are available in many colors: chocolate, green, gray, purple, orange… And they can also be patterned, for example with leaves, letters, flowers.

A real touch of luxury is the German darkening decorative fabric Malibu with a leather motif, in a decent natural color, completely in line with current trends. A standard meter of fabric 150 cm wide costs CZK 540.

Practical example of calculating the consumption of fabric for curtains

Add at least 15 cm to the measured length (or hinge height) when ordering the fabric. For example, if the finished curtain is to have 250 cm from top to bottom, you need 265 cm. When it comes to creasing the curtains, the minimum should be twice the width of the window. Therefore, you should expect 4 widths (usually 150 cm) for a three-meter window. 1060 cm of fabric (4 × 265 cm) is based, so enter 10.6 bm in the order in this case.

How to keep black out fabrics?

Products made of black out decorative fabrics (100% polyester) can sometimes be gently washed to 30 degrees . They are therefore not maintenance-intensive at all. The non-flammable treatment lasts for the entire life of the fabric, washing or aging of the materials does not affect its effectiveness.
